STILL HERE

Still Here

Winston Wächter Fine Art
530 W25th Street, NY
December 6th - January 19th
artist’s reception December 13th, 6-8pm

From the hubbub of Hale-Bopp, the blip of Y2K, the hullabaloo of the Hadron Collider and the termination of the Mayan Calendar, the human race has been summoning our end ever since we began. STILL HERE is an exhibition of works by Artist Scott Patt that explores the personal symbology of luck, the sanctuary of youth, and the hope and humor of daily life amongst the din of foretold ruin. Patt utilizes iconic symbols, objects and concepts that have a rooted power, meaning and often nostalgia within modern popular culture from advertising to cartoons and cultural icons. These recognizable forms and ideas are transposed, tweaked and twisted to expose new meanings, modes and issues from the intimate to the global, to the ironic and optimistic. STILL HERE exposes Patt’s philosophical conflicts and shelters within memory, superstition, faith and luck to prep and protect from life’s impending end…
or viewed another way, preparing to live in case we find we’re still here.

Please join us for an opening reception with Scott Patt on Thursday, December 13th, 2012 from 6 to 8pm.
